Calcium Software Email Marketing Privacy Policy
NZ Anti Spam Legislation September 2007 Compliant
This privacy policy is applicable to Calcium Software’s email marketing solutions. Our clients, business partners and their respective clients use the Calcium Software Marketing Solutions and mailPrimer and Hot Prospects product as a solution to deliver permission-based personalized communications to their prospects and customers.
At Calcium Software, we strive to maintain the trust of our clients, business partners, and email recipients – we do so by utilizing permission-based email marketing approaches, by discouraging "spamming" (the sending or posting of large-scale, mass unsolicited emails or other messages), and by working with clients and business partners whom we believe place a high value on privacy.
In addition, Calcium Software adheres to the data privacy principles of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 as passed by the New Zealand’s government. Calcium Software will also continuously assess its compliance with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 through an internal self-assessment review process. The program is designed to provide Australasian companies with direction on how to provide protection for personal data communicated with their recipients. Such data is uploaded to Calcium Software servers for the purpose of sending opted-in, targeted digital communications via e-mail distribution software. Calcium Software process, stores, and/or transmits such data. Various tasks may be performed by client organization, by partner organizations licensed to do so, or by Calcium Software itself. In the vast majority of cases, Calcium Software is only maintaining the system that performs the delivery and does not have any direct interaction with the data itself.
Personally Identifiable Information-Collection, Use and Privacy
Calcium Software does not sell, rent, trade or otherwise distribute to any third party any personally identifiable information that we collect through our Calcium Software Client Center, or our email messages, tracking/reporting services, without the permission of the person or entity to which such information relates.
Opt In/Opt-Out
Calcium Software requires that every email sent by our customers using our software complies with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Each email provides a clear “unsubscribe” link facility and we encourage our customers and partners to ensure that each email recipients has “opted-in” according to the terms of the Act, with double opt-in our preferred method of confirmation. We keep track of any interaction between recipients and their subscriptions so has to ensure that an audit trail is available at any time confirming full respect of the Act’s specifications and requirements. Where relevant, and to help ensure that customer's personal information is reliable, accurate, complete, and current, we also encourage our clients to provide their own customers the ability to access the personal information being maintained and the ability to correct it where it is inaccurate.
On its customers' behalf, Calcium Software may collect email addresses of people who request to be added to the email list of an Calcium Software customer. These email addresses are forwarded to the Calcium Software customer. Calcium Software never uses these addresses for its own purposes and does not rent or sell these addresses to third parties.
Spam
Calcium Software does not condone or encourage spamming practices and we do not knowingly participate in such activities. In addition, we only work with clients and partners who fully respect the requirements of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 and follow similar anti-spamming policies. If you believe you have received an unsolicited commercial email from Calcium Software on behalf of any of our clients, please send an email to dm-abuse@Calcium.co.nz with the reported email violation included or attached.
Calcium Software Client Center-Information Collection and Use
Calcium Software clients and partners have 24-hour access to the Calcium Software Client Center to view and collect information on their respective email and online marketing campaigns. Each user is required to log in to the Client Center via a secure URL that prompts users for a unique, pre-defined username and password. We do not disclose any of this information to third parties; this is strictly for clients to use to access campaign reports and for Calcium Software to use to better serve your needs.
Use of Cookies and Web Beacons
To monitor activity and gather information about the emails we send on behalf of clients, Calcium Software may use Cookies and Web Beacons. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a user's hard drive by a website. Web Beacons are transparent graphic files used to log activity data such as the date, time and location from which an email message or website was accessed. Cookies and Web Beacons enable websites to track and target the interests of users to enhance their website experience. Please be aware that some of our clients and partners might use cookies or other tracking mechanisms on their own websites, however, Calcium Software does not have access to this data. Recipients can choose not to accept Cookies and Web Beacons at any time but may not be able to subsequently access all Calcium Software or client services.

Landing pages, micro-sites and email messages created or deployed by Calcium Software on behalf of our clients and partners may contain links to other websites. Calcium Software is not responsible for the privacy practices of these other websites – please visit each website's privacy policy to learn more about their policies and practices.
Data Security
Calcium Software has both electronic and physical security measures in place to protect the loss, unauthorized access or destruction, improper disclosure, misuse and alteration of the information provided to us by our clients, business partners, and recipients of our rich media email messages by other users or "hackers". We also have internal policies in effect to prevent any misuse by our own company personnel, and we require that all subcontractors agree to abide by our privacy and security principles. Overall, that helps ensure that customer’s personal information is used for intended purposes.
Privacy Legislation
All procedures and business practices in place by Calcium Software with regard to data security, information collection, and information privacy are intended to fully comply with New Zealand, Australian and international legislation addressing the collection and transmission of information over the Internet.
