An update on what has been happening at Calcium.
Has been a long gap between newsletters from the team at calcium, other than communication on updates and technical happenings we have been head down - tail up and working like crazy!
So what has been happening?
General news
Two huge milestones for us have eventuated:
- First up, we now have passed the 300 client mark!
Awesome news for all of us here, even though this magical number has created a mini storm in the sales department...
Gael of course claims that the 300th customer is one of his... Whilst Tom maintains that - as all Calcium's customers are his to start with, so is the 300th! They are not even in agreement on whether the 300th was Formway, Xero, Unlimited Magazine or Telecom Mobile that was! Time for them to grow up we all think...
- Secondly, thanks to these 300+ customers our ours, we have now also passed the awesome "25 million 'primed' emails" mark - or 6 emails to each kiwi!
But what makes us really proud is our stats:
- 99,8% average delivery rate (ADR) for mailPrimer (121)
- and 98% ADR for Hot Prospect (12many) !!!
Exciting stuff for the number crunchers amongst us - and certainly something that leaves any other company in NZ far, far behind...! The bottom line? By using either of our products, our customers make more money! Something I am sure we can all relate to!...
Also - by now the dust is settling slowly on the 5th of September's new anti-spam legislation! As a result, we have been real busy helping existing / new customers sorting out their database prior to the 5th! For those of you who don't know what we are talking about - all is not lost: just gives us a buzz and we will enlighten you!
Last but not least, congratulations to Tom in becoming the "Sales executive of the Year" at the Sales and Marketing Institute's yearly awards ceremony!

Product updates
Hot Prospect (eNewsletter tool)
We have updated the Hot Prospect newsletter tool, providing overall performance improvements with double opt-in management, and enhanced reporting.

And of course, still the same, sweet fixed pricing model that doesn't make a burning hole in your pocket yet allows you to really leverage that awesome tool which is email marketing!
Survey tool released
We have also finalised the first release of our smart survey tool - simple to use, totally customisable, excellent value for money - you have no more excuses to not poll regularly what your customers think about your products / company!
mailPrimer 121
We have also released a new version of mailPrimer 121, essentially some strong features that will help our customers thrive through the anti-spam terror unscathed, including:
- Automatic checking of whether a recipient is already on the email marketing database and - if not - insertion of a gif file inviting said recipients to click ot register;
- Facility for our customers to export all the 121 recipients they have been talking to directly into Hot Prospect (make sense: these email addresses are all implied permission!)
So - onwards and up-wards!
With the help of our friends at GrpTXT we have launched an exciting new product:
Ever wanted to warn someone that you had sent them an email? Ever wanted to receive automatically on your txt notification that important emails (contracts / support / server down / ...) have been sent to you?
The wait is over with mobiAlert, allowing you to send a text message at the same time you send an email, perfect for time critical emails, check out the full details here...
