Unique Data Capture Methodology

With its unique data capture methodology, Imprint/Silhouette represents a significant advance in site analytics technology.

 

Its hybrid methodology fuses the strengths of browser-based technology with server side technology, allowing Imprint/Silhouette to offer the benefits of third-generation technology across a broad spectrum of areas, including implementation and maintenance, data accuracy, privacy and confidentiality and cost-efficiency.

 

Third-generation technology uses a small application on the web server(s) itself to automatically install tracking code as the page is requested, removing the task of manual installation and ongoing code insertion or audits as the site evolves.

 

As the site content is cached (ie. proxy servers, firewalls, PC RAM, browser cache) so too is the tracking code, ensuring 100 per cent activity is measured and reported.

 

The data is then written back to the web server itself as a ‘super log’, thereby enabling use of a first party cookie and ensuring absolute accuracy for the reporting of ‘unique users/browsers’, as well as removing privacy concerns for the end user.

 

The ‘super logs’ are then dispatched to the Facilitate Digital reporting database for processing, reports and analysis viewed via the Imprint/Silhouette reporting interface.

 

Furthermore, as the ‘super log’ data is stored at web server level, organisations retain 100 per cent control of data usage at all times, thereby addressing issues of user confidentiality and data access for any ad-hoc data queries.

 

Unprecedented Reporting Flexibility

Imprint/Silhouette provides a level of reporting flexibility not yet seen in real-time site analytics tools. Via simple right click functionality, users may select any combination of sites, sub-sites and pages to report against.

 

Most site analytics tools will limit the number of these combinations against which they report, then charge additionally beyond this.

 

Imprint/Silhouette not only provides limitless flexibility for reporting against site elements in any combination, but also reports against any date range and any time unit in limitless combination.

 

Administration of Imprint/Silhouette is 100 per cent self-managed. Tasks that typically require supplier support may be managed via the reporting interface, including setting up new users, assigning and managing passwords and determining levels of user access.

 

Additional controls are also provided, such as amending page names as they appear in the reports, setting up automated email reports, creating user specific report lists and exporting to pdf, Excel or html formats.

 

Customisation

Imprint/Silhouette provides an array of customisation features, all administered via the reporting interface itself. From manipulation of data tables, to sorting, filtering and pivot functions, to renaming of pages and elements, to controlling graph types and layouts, each reporting screen offers comprehensive customisation tools as standard. Imprint/Silhouette even allows for customisation of colours fonts and labels.
