A French national, he moved to NZ by choice in 2003. A seasoned strategic marketer with a proven track record of launching successfully cutting edge technology within very fast moving international markets, his previous business experience includes key management roles at two subsidiaries of Canon Inc (Criterion Software Ltd, now an Electronic Art compay – where he was responsible for re-launching RenderWare, now the world’s leading real-time 3D middleware solution for the games industry; and mantra4D, a real time 3D engine digital factory management solution licensed by DaimlerChrystler; and Canon Research Europe Ltd, where he launched UCanTalk, a command and control speech recognition technology subsequently licensed by IBM). In a previous life, he held management positions in UK within the youth tourism industry, and in France in the event management market.
Gael holds an MBA from Cass Business School, City of London (ex City University Business School) and a BA in Business Law from the University of Paris Il Assas. Passionate about sailing, fishing and reading, he is also a member of the IOD and a fellow of the RSA.
